We need to go shopping.
I am going to make some potato leek soup for dinner but we need to get fruit and sugar and cat litter. It's going to be different shopping without the boy to buy food for. Nothing from the frozen food aisle. No packaged juice or fruit roll-ups or crackers or chips. No bread. well, maybe bagels.
Yes, I have two fake bananas. One is glass and one is some kind of stone. Mexican Onyx, would be my guess.
This the blueberry bush. It's grown quite a bit and I think I might see berries on it.
That is the strawberry. It definitely has berries. The cat likes to chew on them so they must be good, right?
What a good kitty! He has a cat nip plant and a wheat grass plant and he chews on those, too.
Here is the whole garden. the topsy turvy tomato. That one has the little orange tomatoes that are very sweet. We ate the first four from it last night. I love homegrown food most of all. Every tomato is a step toward independence. The topsy turvy is pretty cool. I want to get more. Soon.
Then there is the celery, the eggplant, the cucumber, more tomatoes, yellow and green zukes, ruby chard and red sails lettuce, onions which are growing nicely, that is a morning glory trying to climb the trellis, and all up the middle are calendula flowers.

What a lovely and nutritious garden. I see you have one of those hanging tomato growers I've seen on tv. How's that workin' for ya?
ReplyDeleteHappy summer!
I love my topsy turvy! I want to get more. They sell them at the drugstore here, like $15. It's great cuz it's not on the ground, all the dirt is inside and it's really clean and easy care. We got the first tomatoes off of it yesterday, yay!
ReplyDeleteOh, and thank you! I couldn't have done it without my man and I give him most of the credit.
