The Ingredients

I made raw marinara tonight with heirloom tomato, celery, ginger, garlic, olive oil, tangerine juice and salt, all blended at high speed for a good five minutes. I stop for five minutes and then start again so as not to over heat the blender.

It came out spicy and sweet.

I spooned it over a garden-type-burger-patty-cutlet-meatless-meatloaf I tried to make last night. The recipe for my burger is far from perfect so I'm not posting it yet. I will... One day...

The inside of the tomato was as pretty as the outside.

Please note, this is an heirloom tomato. It's grown from seeds that haven't been bred for perfection. These tomatoes come in a vast array of shapes, sizes and colors and taste amazing!

Not like the mealy, pale commercial tomatoes you see in the supermarket. The purple areas you see are not bad or overripe, thats they way these beauties grow
