YUMMY WAFFLES!
Combine in a big bowl:
2 c flour (I like half whole wheat and half unbleached white)
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbs sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon (some may say it's optional, I do not agree)
Add and stir well:
2 cups water or milk (i used 1/4 c fermented cashew milk and 1 3/4 c water)
2 tbs oil
Add more water for crispier waffles and less water for thicker, moister waffles.
Scoop about a half a cup of batter on to your hot waffle iron and close it. When steam stops coming out of the iron, your waffle is done. Put it on a plate and immediately put another half cup of batter on the iron. To keep them warm and soft, keep cooked waffles on a plate wrapped in a towel like you would tortillas.
Serve with fresh fruit, jam, peanut or almond butter, maple syrup, vegan margarine or whatever else you like! It's waffles, go crazy!
Shown with Earth Balance and mango chutney.
