I went on a long hike today

I walked up to the house that we want to rent. It's not too far, a nice flat walk, no hills, all paved or gravel road.

I walked about1.5 miles or less from where we live now to the driveway of the new place.

So this is the place I want. I walked up there and sat on some rocks, ate some fruit and drank some water. I just hung out for an hour or so listening to the quiet and thinking how great it would be to live there with a garden and some lizards, squirrel, deer, birds (and coyote, mountain lion), around the peace, the solitude, the hiking and exploring that need to be done up there. The views are breathtaking, the rent is in our range, the house is in the boys school district. The house is certainly no palace but it's big enough for us and seems pretty solid.
