One very wet rice wrapper
one leaf of red lettuce
half an avocado, sliced
a dab of vegan spaghetti sauce and a squirt of soy sauce.
I wrapped it up as best I could and then ate it with a fork. It was delicious even if it wasn't visually... pretty.
I'm full, so it must be a SUCCESS!
I'd like to try this too; maybe you have to let the wrapper dry first? I haven't explored this enough to know what in the world I'm talking about!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had any experience with them either. My way is always: try it first then look it up and see how to do it right. I'm thinking a lint free kitchen towel or a bamboo sushi mat to roll it on... :)
ReplyDeleteNext time you should probably dry the wrapper off on a towel first.
ReplyDeleteDon't dry them first, they'll get hard or stick to the paper towel. All you need to do is dip it very briefly in hot water (a deep-ish saucer bigger than the circumference of the rice paper rolls). Dip it once, swish quickly twice. If the water's hot enough it will be pliable right away - you may need to dip both sides of the rice paper. I hope that made sense!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, this sounds yummy!! I will be trying it..and using the advise from Rose ;)))
