About Rings


Modern rings can be made of almost any material, plastic, silver, gold, copper, wood, grass, even glass and ceramic is forged into beautiful rings and can range in style from the most simple bands to elaborate filigree and cocktail rings, hinged "poison pill" rings and spinners.

Types of rings can include, but are not limited to school rings, wedding rings, friendship rings, promise rings, mother's or grandmother's rings (usually set with birthstones to indicate children and grandchildren).

The price of a ring can range anywhere from 50c (gumball machine) to thousands of dollars for more precious metals and stones designed by famous makers from all over the world.

The reasons a person might wear a ring is just as varied as the style and materials you might make a ring from. Rings are given as rewards for job well done, such as the Superbowl and other large sporting events They are given to represent marriage, engagement, friendship and promise of future marriage (promise ring). Some very religious women may wear a ring to signify their commitment to God and the church.
