Although I am no longer under the comforting wing of the mother company, I still shop in the local branch every chance I get. Yesterday I went and discovered this:

the one in the middle is my new food processor, check out the detailed description below!
There is the holy trinity of raw vegan kitchen appliances. Throw out your microwave and oven and get you one of each of these.
From the left:
Dehydrator. This is a cheap one. It hasn't got a brand on it, but I'm guessing Ronco. I got it at Goodwill, of course. $12.99. I found another one like it but smaller for $4.99 the other day. At Goodwill. It's not in the photo cuz it's still in the garage for now.
Center: The new toy~ It's a Hamilton Beach. All the parts are there, two blades and the pusher. Sit down. Are you sitting? $8.99. Eight Dollars and Ninety Nine Cents. I almost cried right there in the Goodwill, sitting on the floor in the front where I unplugged their xmas lights and plugged in the chopper to see if it worked and Hallefarkinluyah, it works.
I am complete.
Right: The mighty Frankenblender. THREE blenders have gone into the making of this blender and it just keeps getting more powerful. That there motor housing is a Hamilton Beach Elite, the kind with the timer that was only made for a limited time. This means I can turn on the blender and set the timer and walk away and it will turn itself off. The timer goes up to 60 seconds. A blessing, I assure you.
I also found a set of sterling silver candle sticks. I promptly listed them on Ebay if you wanna see them. Or buy them. I don't mind.
Oh, and I found The natural foods no-cook book: A complete diary of over 1000 health-giving recipes for flavorsome uncooked meals by John H Tobe It is an out of print raw foods lifestyle and "no-cook" book written in 1969. I got the 1978 edition. He includes raw meat and raw dairy in many of the recipes but there are great, simple raw vegan dessert and salad recipes and bread recipes, hints for living and how to deal with people. I am going to read the thing cover to cover before I consider trying to sell it. It goes for about $7O. I picked it up for the cheep. At Goodwill :)
Yes, it was a glorius weekend for second hand shopping.
